Steve Carroll started reading very age-inappropriate books in elementary school and by the time he was 12 could be found with a men’s adventure paperback in his possession at all times and in every circumstance, usually reading 2-3 per week. Years have passed but these habits have remained. Steve still reads a lot, but also works in marketing and graphic design, and is deep into writing his first novel, a supernatural western titled "Redemption." Steve is the father of 2 girls and lives with his wife, 2 cats, and a hyperactive dog in a small town outside of Atlanta, GA where he enjoys being a grandfather of three even more than reading. Tarzan: Return to Pal-ul-don (2015) by Will Murray

As a boy, I decided to indulge my love for Tarzan movies by acquiring and reading some of the original books by Edgar Rice Burroughs. W hen I was 10 years old, I received the first 5 Tarzan books in a slipcase for Christmas. These were the editions with cover art by Neal Adams and I dove in with   zealous fervor. I was so hooked that my first attempt at original writing was a Tarzan pastiche involving the apeman and dinosaurs that has sadly been   lost to the ravages of time, unlike my later attempt at a Kung Fu action adventure novel that still exists in a mostly intact form (all 176 hand-written pages   of it!). Years later I re-read almost the entire Tarzan run again along with much of Burroughs'   Mars   and   Venus   series and various trips to   Pellucidar . Do you remember a time just a few decades ago when it seemed like   almost every even moderately popular movie or television show regardless of   genre received a paperback tie-in   novelization? If you’re like me (and I   suspect you are), I grabbed those up whenever I saw them. Unfortunately, over   time most of them ended up lost, sold, or traded. Thanks to eBay, used   bookstores, and thrift/charity shops, I have successfully rebuilt much of that   collection from decades ago.
